My Story

Isis Kenney is renowned for her creation of Hip Hop Fine Art, a distinctive artistic and decorative style that has become a trademark in its own right.

Hip Hop Fine Art specializes in fine art and home decor, with a mission to preserve the history and culture of Hip Hop. Kenney, who hails from Poughkeepsie, New York, was raised in an environment rich in African traditional fine art, jazz and R&B music, and African textiles, thanks to her artistically inclined parents.

Growing up surrounded by these influences, Kenney developed a passion for collecting and preserving items that held personal significance to her. Her collection includes hip hop photojournalism books, magazines, vinyl records, and various memorabilia.

After completing her education, including a degree in Visual Communications and studies at the School of Visual Arts, Kenney embarked on a career in advocacy. Working with organizations such as the ARC, PSI Cobra Case Management, and Partnership for the Homeless, she noticed a lack of resources available to community advocates. This led her to offer graphic design services to these organizations, empowering them to amplify their messages and initiatives through effective marketing materials.

Kenney's commitment to education, justice, and community development is evident in her work. Over the years, she has spearheaded numerous successful campaigns and elevated the brands of various nonprofit organizations and social justice groups.

Through her designs, Kenney aims to spark dialogue and incite change on social, political, and cultural issues. Her work serves as a powerful tool for inspiring reflection and action among the public.

In summary, Kenney's impact on culture through visual storytelling has spanned over 15 years, contributing significantly to the growth and advocacy efforts of numerous nonprofits, businesses, and advocacy groups nationwide. Her ultimate goal is to educate, communicate, and inspire through her visual communications.

Kenney's work is not only effective at exposing truths but also at motivating societal change, encouraging individuals to think critically and take meaningful action.
