Set Design
Set design and large installations are powerful tools for engaging audiences and telling compelling stories. As a set designer for the City Parks Foundation’s King Kong, I helped bring hip hop culture to life across NYC.
I also created the Women Warriors installation at Hudson Valley MoMA, empowering youth and honoring pioneering women to vote and engage civically. These are just a few examples of my work, showcasing my commitment to creating impactful, visually-driven experiences.
Hip-Hop Themed King Kong Set for NYC SummerStage Festival
King Kong is a vibrant musical, dance, and comedy set in the late 1970s, celebrating the rise of hip-hop in the South Bronx.
The play follows two brothers searching for a new sound, discovering a rapper named King Kong. It subverts the classic love story while highlighting hip-hop’s cultural evolution.
“Women Warriors”
An Art Installation
By Isis Kenney
Women Warriors at the Hudson Valley Center for Contemporary Art (HVCCA) celebrates the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage and the ongoing fight for equal rights. The exhibition featured powerful, comic-book-style panels of historical figures like Susan B. Anthony and Sojourner Truth, portrayed as superheroes advocating for human rights.
As the artist behind the installation, I’m incredibly proud to contribute to such an impactful piece of art. Creating this work allowed me to honor the strength and perseverance of these trailblazing women while empowering today’s youth to engage in their civic duties.
It’s a celebration of history, art, and the ongoing fight for justice
